Our Architectural Process.
At DSA Architecture, we guide our clients through a structured, multi-stage journey to turn their residential visions into reality. Our process ensures clarity, precision, and professional oversight at every milestone.
Stage 0: Consultation and Briefing Meeting
Every project begins with a dedicated consultation. We meet to discuss your aspirations, budget, and requirements, forming the foundation of the project brief.
Stage 1: Measured Survey
We conduct a comprehensive on-site survey using high-precision equipment to capture the exact dimensions of your existing property.
Indicative Timeline: Approximately 2 weeks from instruction.
Stage 2a: Existing Plans, Elevations + 3D Views
Following the survey, we produce architectural drawings, including existing floor plans and elevations, supplemented by 3D views.
Stage 2b: Proposed Concept Design Options
This is the creative heart of the project. We develop various design options for your new-build or extension. We work closely with you until you are ready to sign off on a final proposed design.
Indicative Timeline: 3 weeks from survey completion.
Stage 3: Planning Drawings
Once the concept is approved, we prepare the formal architectural drawings required for the Planning Application. We handle the submission of the Planning Application on your behalf and ensure that approval is granted.
Indicative Timeline: 2 weeks from concept sign-off.
Stage 4: Detailed Drawings + Specification
After planning approval is achieved, we move into the technical design phase. We produce detailed construction drawings and a comprehensive specification document. This information will form the application to Building Control to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations. These drawings are also used for a builder to price and build your project.
Key Action: We submit your Building Regulations Application during this stage and issue final drawings for the builder.
Indicative Timeline: 3 weeks from Planning Approval.
Stage 5: Building works commence
Once you have chosen your preferred builder and agreed on the costs/contract; work can begin using our detailed drawings to construct the project.
Key Action: Construction work begins and Building Control carries out site inspections.
